Our History & Vision

The Challenge We're Solving

The agricultural landscape in South Africa faces significant challenges. Rural communities often have limited access to quality education and training in modern AgriTech, hindering their ability to implement innovative farming techniques.

Furthermore, many agricultural students lack access to commercial farms to gain the practical, real-world experience they need. This educational gap directly impacts the sustainability of farming practices and our nation's food security.

The DLL Vision: A Virtuous Cycle

Our vision is to create a commercial educational farm that directly addresses these challenges. We are building a virtuous cycle that couples commercial principles with community empowerment.

  1. A Profitable Farm provides the funds and infrastructure to support the entire cycle.
  2. A Training Hub educates farmers and students, generating a unique dataset of best practices.
  3. An Agri-Mentor AI platform scales this guidance nationally, feeding insights back to the farm.
  4. A "Give Back" Community of empowered farmers achieves commercial value and contributes back to the farm through mentorship and support.

Our Strategy: Commercial First, Tech to Scale

Our mission is to first grow quality, in-demand vegetables sustainably, generating a profit from the very first growth cycle. We have a signed off-taker contract to ensure market access.

From year two, we will launch our Centre of Excellence (COE), developing a curriculum to train a cohort of farmers and students. This COE will create the tech platform, scaling best practices across South Africa and creating a new generation of empowered agricultural leaders.
